Jazan, Saudi Arabia: A projectile launched by Yemen's Houthi group injured two people and caused material damage to a mosque, several buildings, and vehicles in Al-Tuwal in the southern Jazan region, Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense said on Saturday, citing a statement carried by state news agency SPA.

Border areas of southern Saudi Arabia, including Jazan, have periodically come under fire amid hostilities involving the Iran-aligned Houthis in Yemen in recent years.

Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, phoned US President Donald Trump on Thursday and asked for US military help fighting the Houthis, three sources told Reuters. They said the prince was told that Washington would not intervene directly for now but would help with intelligence.
